Leave the guns at home Kobe. While you’re at it you also might want to disengage with JR Smith too. Kobe should take a page from King James’ book with regards to the opponent. Applying Lebron’s analogy, Kobe is Jay-Z and JR Smith, Kenyon Martin, et al are playing the role of Soulja Boy. Similar to how Lebron doesn’t acknowledge Deshawn Stevenson and his childish antics Kobe should do the same. It’s called class.
Kobe still isn’t in Jordan’s league either. Perhaps his ability to play the game is comparable but it’s the space between from which legends are defined. Given Kobe’s attitude, his narcissism, whether it be popping the Lakers jersey, one too many facial expressions, one too many “Eh!” yells when he’s driving the lane, or one too many hand-gat demonstrations; I’m still waiting for the guy to mature and realize his true potential.
I’m sure lots of people are going to think I’m crazy for bagging on Kobe so much but the best player on the planet should really be more aware of himself. It’s definitely fitting that Kobe plays in LA, Showtime, where the lights are dimmed on the crowd and the spotlight shines so brightly on the hardwood at Staples Center. Bryant loves the spotlight and obviously cannot live without it.
Everyone is buzzing about the Lakers because they’re blowing out the Nuggets and LA is passing the ball around like they used to in the 80’s. However, let’s see what happens when the Lakers actually have to play a real game. Next round looks to be Utah and I don’t think you’ll see the triangle offense being run to perfection as it is now.
Rather, when the crap hits the fan I’m sure that the old Kobe will come out. KB24 fans, enjoy the Nuggets series while you can because you’re going to see more 10-30 nights as opposed to 18-24 nights when the going gets tough.
hater! hahaha let the Kobe hating begin. Lakers will rock the Jazz.
haha that made me laugh. MVP has a new meaning now.

Kobe Rules Jazz don’t stand a chance against Los Angeles. And athletically one-on-one in their primes….I take Kobe to beat MJ. Can’t hate on greatest…..aka the “Kobe”....and stil pay homage to His Airness.
I mean, no one was dissing MJ for wagging his tounge out in the air like Scooby Doo everytime he took it to the hole even though that was pompous. So why hate on Kobe for “poppin his collar”?
It’s just all part of the swagger #24 one of the greatest of all time. Go Lakers!
I agree with Bobby’s I agree with Bobby’s contention that Kobe Bryant is a very egotistical guy. I also agree with the fact that he acted a excessively on Wednesday night. However, the man single handedly destroyed a fifty win team’s game plan (whatever their defensive faults) in a playoff match up. I consider this an accomplishment worthy of some acting out. Basketball is an emotional game and Bryant is a hungry and passionate player. Simply put, he played too well to do nothing. As for the 2nd round prediction, I have no idea what the “old” Kobe coming out means (unless you’re talking about 1998 vs the Jazz). The man has been a certified playoff stud for years. Additionally (while I agree with the increased difficulty of running the triangle against Utah), Kobe has torched the Jazz this year with 29.8pts, 5.5 reb, 5 ast on 56% shooting. And the Lakers won three of four.
let’s not hate on kobe! i agree kobe does whine a little too much, however he is the best player in the nba, period. i think phil jackson should pull the reigns in a little bit, and discuss the meaning of the word, professionalism. eventually the refs will get angry, and also it hurts his case for the mvp trophy.
Kobe has no rings of his own I’d make the argument that LeBron has been a better playoff performer than Kobe has. Kobe was complimentary to one of the best centers of all time during their 3 championships. there has never been any debate as to Shaq’s 3 playoff MVPs so I’ll conclude that Kobe wasn’t even the best player on his own team during the championship years. When Kobe had his chance to be finals MVP and shoulder his team to the championship trophy he only managed to pull out one game for the Lakers when they lost to the Pistons. James took the Cavs to the finals (without Shaq, Payton, and Malone) a few years into his career and he’s only getting started. the good thing is that we won’t have to speculate on this for much longer. as ‘Sheed always says, the ball never lies! -bB
