Well, here we are, folks. The final four of the NFL in season version 2007-08. I’m not going out on a limb by picking the Packers and the Patriots to win and go on to meet in the Superbowl, but I am notifying you of some players I’m eyeing as sleepers that can help you out in this weekend. Without further delay, here they are:
Quarterback
Obviously, Tom Brady is the class of the group, but don’t forget about Brett Favre. He looked fantastic last weekend and those Giants corners are still shaky. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, go with Eli Manning. The Giants probably won’t at any point in the game have a big lead against the Packers, so Eli may throw it up some and he’s been solid the last month.
Running Back
He doesn’t get much love, but Laurence Maroney was very effective last week and I suspect he will be as active this week against the Chargers. I actually like Michael Turner to get some touches due to LaDainian Tomlinson’s injury, so he could be viable.
Wide Receivers
I’m jumping on the Amani Toomer bandwagon, as he’s been very good and as mentioned above, the Giants should be playing from behind. I think Vincent Jackson has looked more spry than Chris Chambers of late and he could be a nice sleeper in a game the Patriots will control.
Tight End
Here, I think Ben Watson deserves a play. He caught two TDs last week and Brady definitely looks for him in the red zone.
Kicker
No sleepers here, you have to with either Stephen Gostkowski or Mason Crosby as both their teams will control the games late and they should get several opportunities to ice the games.
Defense
Green Bay will get some opportunities to pick off the Giant’s Eli Manning and it’s supposed to be around 7 degrees on Sunday, so that ball will be hard to hold onto. Look for some fumbles to be lost.
You’re #1 in Our Fanatsy League so Far….. .....nice post. Keep it up.
thanks NYS I’m number one in the FSM league and #13 in the FF Librarian league (about a hundred owners in that one), so I’m hanging tough. I would add Greg Jennings to the list too – he’s not quite a sleeper but more of a medium risk/high reward kind of guy.

Another one I would add would be Wes Welker for this week. week in and week out he impresses me more and more. He is very speedy and with San Diego’s above average corners…I think Welker will have a good game in the slot. Also Brady will be looking for him a little more I think.
good one, Bucknuts Welker I wouldn’t even put in the sleeper category so much but yes, he’s the guy who Brady goes to a lot and gets all the underneath stuff. He’s more reliable than Moss, although Moss is obviously hit or miss to the extreme.
