Some lingering leftovers from yesterday’s game…and I’m not talking about the chili that went through my system….

-I knew the Cubs were doomed from the minute I dressed for the game. Each Sunday this season (until yesterday), I have worn a Greg Maddx tee over a long sleeved grey shirt. Three Sundays in a row I wear these two shirts and the Cubs win on each Sunday. This is a Sunday thing only. Then I figured I’d be Mr. Big Shot and wear my D Lee number 25 road grey jersey because I just had to show off. And we know how THAT turned out….

-The Cubs were shut out for the first time yesterday…

-The Nats won their first home series of the year against…you guessed it…the Cubs

Other non Chilli, non Cubs Monday leftovers:

-Pat Riley “retired” as Miami Heat coach. Is the end for the Godfather of Showtime? I bet not….

-Apparently Jason Kidd, Jared’s fav NBA thug, flagrantly fouled someone in a recent playoff game and was ejected. No suspension for Kidd, which makes me wonder why the NBA keeps protecting this goober…

-What should one make of the alleged affair Roger Clemens had with singer Mindy McCready? Another potentially sad, but juicy detail of a pitcher gone bad…And rumors have McCready was underage when this supposedly started. Please let’s hope this is not true….

-I know Wrestlemania is long over, but could we see a cage match between LeBron James and Brendon Haywood? First Haywood calls LeBron “overrated”, now he’s calling him a “crybaby”. What’s next….“your mother wears combat boots’??

-What up with Barry Zito? $126 million reasons why he sucks…and now he’s in the bullpen…

-And what’s up with the Devil Rays? They swept Boston over the weekend to move into a first place tie. Pretty amazing….

-And lastly: Something I caught on We Suck At Sports (see extra reading on the side for a link to the site or click on this link for the posting): Arizona basketball coach Lute Olson in a not so dreat light. http://suckatsports.blogspot.com/

I had wondered why Olson really took a leave, but this sheds a completely new light. Kinda sad….
