Good Ole Days

Blog post by jaredprebish, 1 week ago

From Wednesday; sorry this is a day late:

The good ole days….when life was much simpler and merely cocaine was the drug of choice for baseball players. Bleacher seats were cheap, the beer cheaper….

Ah…May 6, 1998. Who knew at such an early stage that Cubs P Kerry Wood would peak so early? Perhaps the game of his and many Cubs fans’ lifetime on that May day in 1998 (should Frankie Vali sing a song about that glorious day??). I knew where I was that day…I had come home from work and caught the last couple of innings…and it was of those games that you just knew….

And on the anniversary of that big day? Kerry Wood gets the save…

Remember in the good ole days when teams merely performed voodo to shake hitting slumps? The Chicago White Sox used a new dimension by using blow up dolls :

And Ozzie Guillen wonders why there’s no love for him in Chicago, wondering why a
team that hasn’t won and is loved (the Cubs)...and his Sox aren’t: http://blogs.usatoday.com/gameon/2008/05/carol-slezak-ht.html

Plus check this out; via chicagosports.com, another vintage Ozzie rant: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/cs-080506-chicago-white-sox-infl...

How long does Ozzie have in Chicago? Perhaps not much longer….
Remember in the good ole days when the Boston Celtics…just saying that name implied greatness…hared as they were, were almost always outstanding? Today’s rendition…UGLY...they don’t have an alibi…..
Remember when it was a given that Roger Clemens was such a gimmie for the Hall Of Fame, the only doubt would be what what hat he would wear to the Induction Ceremony? Anyone have any doubts now??

For Buzz Bissinger: Remember the good ole days when newspaper men ruled the sports world?? It’s time to accept the 21st Century and the reality that bloggers are not going away. Try to read beyond your world a bit…you might learn something.
Ah the good ole days…when gas didn’t cost you both arms and legs…having gas just thinking about that…and the Gashouse Gang….
It’s time to go before I get mrs. jp23’s automatic two technicals and ultimate ejection….
jp has left the buiding (remember when the rock world was ruled by Elvis
