I was looking at my usual stuff and I found this nugget per Curt Schilling’s blog “38 Pitches”: http://38pitches.com/2008/06/09/manny-jd-papi-lester-and-the-nba-finals/
I’m not a huge Schilling fan, but his take on Kobe Bryant during game 2 of the NBA Finals was very very interesting and insightful. I have always felt this away about Kobe, especially after the Colorado incident, but this settles it for me. Would you want this on your team? This is our reigning NBA MVP???
Congrats to Ken Griffey on being the latest to the 600 Home run club. There are many who are rewjoicing because this seemingly has been a clean effort. Griffey has always been a great ambassador to baseball and I think this definitely cements his Hall Of Fame bid. (I still don’t like how he acted when he got traded from Seattle, but I think I can let that pass.) I have always said it was too bad he was hurt earlier in the decade, or he would be topping the all time HR list and not Barry Bonds*
It looks like Michael Strahan will be retiring. It’s certainly too early to be pulling the training camp he pulled last year, so this looks like the real deal. TV Strahan??
Looks of people wondering about Big Brown. As I mentioned Saturday, I think Big Brown was off cycle. Steroid cycle that is. I think the horse would have had the big * next to his name had he won. And it would given horse racing a bigger black eye considering what happened after the Kentucky Derby. Personally, I think horse racing and perhaps the feds should look at the other Triple Crown races; I think there was definitely some cheating. Hindsight…yes.
Cedric Benson was waived by the Bears after his latest drinking mishap. So…this couldn’t have happened before the draft? Biggest bum in Bears history…
Lastly, apparently Terrell Owens is now in the NFL’s drug testing program, because he missed telephone calls to set up his normal drug testing. TO claims a communication issue involving cell phone numbers and the NFL believes him. Could something fishy be going on here??? I’m surprised that that haven’t tested for diarrhea (of the mouth)
bad week to be an athlete at least the ones mentioned in your post. Benson is a loser. Kobe and Co. face a must-win tonight.

As per Kobe Not every action is justifiable, but having Leon Powe run a layup drill on your frontline can’t be fun the watch. He’s intense and that won’t let up in a Finals game in which your team is getting destroyed because of SIMPLE defensive errors. Wish I had Schilling’s seats.
