With former video man Matt Walsh already having come forward with 6 to 8 new video tapes of footage showing how Mr. Beli-“cheat” and the New England Patriots taping offensive and defensive signal calls from the Miami Dolphins and other 2000 NFL team opponents…..what is there left to say about the state of the NFL and it’s publicity image that is being sent out to it’s loyal fans?
I mean with the recent negative press due to the criminalities of Pac Man Jones, Chris Henry, Michael Vick and now Cedric Benson just to name a few….just exactly how low can the NFL go to set a bad example for all the young fans out there looking to emulate their sports heroes? Certainly Belichick and the Patriot organization didn’t help out any now in light of the recent uncovering of more “spygate” exposure by former employee Matt Walsh.
Is Roger Goodell really doing an effective job of being the “enforcer” that he claimed he would be when he took the position as new commisioner of the NFL? Has the league really gotten better and cleaned up it’s “bad boy” image that started back in the early part of this decade like it was supposed to be doing?
Things seem to be really going “south” for this entertaining sport as “off the field” antics are now quickly becoming the norm in such a credible league once dominated by the great play and team comradery. Such a blatant disregard for the ogranization and rules seems to have gotten the NFL into one big mess.
I strongly feel that a “three strikes and you’re out” penalty for criminal offenders as well as a more stringent penalty on Belichick and the Patriot organization (as well as any other coaching staffs that choose to video tape signals from their opponents) should warrant an immediate playoff suspension and loss of at least three draft picks for the organization’s future years to come. Maybe in this way, with the “risk” factor being raised so high, it will cause much more of an aversion by players and coaching organizations alike to stop looking for further ways to “bend” the rules.
