Game 5 was a well fought game. It was nice to see Ray Allen find his rhythm and become a contributer. Garnett also showed reason to be considered among the most valuable player candidates. Billups and Hamilton looked real impressive. I think this series is going to go seven games, I don’t think the Celtics can close it out in Detroit. Especially with the play of Billups, Hamilton, and Maxeale who came out of left field. Detroit’s rookie phenom Stuckey’s play was extremely impressive. I think the refereeing over this 2008 playoffs has been extremely tough. There has been criticism about the no foul call on Derek Fisher, however I can’t imagine that foul being called 45 feet away from the basket. Refs do not call fouls at the end of the game because of the game because they do not want to deal with the burden of effecting the end of the game by free throws. Kobe would have went postal if they called that fould. The flagrant foul calls in last nights game were horrible. That foul on PJ brown was barely a touch on the shoulder. Stern needs to step in with a new set of officials for the Finals. I think the Lakers will put away the Spurs tonight, and hopefully we’ll see a blast from the past Celtics vs. Lakers Finals, a vintage NBA rivalry for today’s generation.
