Silva Has Ruined the MiddleWeight Division

Blog post by stantheman13, 3 months ago

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same as I do. Anderson Silva has ruined the middleweight division in the UFC. He is so dominant, and such a great finisher that all the other fighters in the division look like garbage. Take for example this weekend’s UFC 83 card. Rich Franklin is an excellent fighter, and Travis Lutter is good, however this fight has no appeal because when they both fought Anderson Silva he made them look like a bunch of amatuers. Anderson Silva has changed the game. I think the next fight for him should be Rampage Jackson. Or Dana White needs to import some middleweights from other organizations i.e. Denis Kang, I’d also like to see a Silva vs. Silva, Vanderlei vs. Anderson, that would be great for UFC promotional services. However I do not think that fight would happen because both used to be on Chute Box Team together. Anderson then left and went on to found the Muay Thai Dream Team, and later he moved to Team Blackhouse. Kang vs. Silva is the next logical middleweight matchup for Silva, otherwise he needs to move up and fight Rampage. I’d like to see Couture vs. Silva, however Couture is a little heavy. Penn vs. Silva would be another intriguing matchup, Silva would matchup against another maestro like himself, the Prodigy. Whatabout an open weight UFC Grand Prix Tourney, that would be sick!! Kang vs. Silva, make it happen Dana!!

Denis Kang

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kang beats Silva.

Dana White ruined the UFC

let’s get it straight, if White doesn’t allow Silva to fight outside of his weight class or in other promotions, it will be White bringing down the sport. It’s not Silva’s fault he’s good or that he’s running through the best the UFC middleweight division has to offer. If anything, it demonstrates that having ONE organization and holding fighters to exclusive contracts does not work. Give the fans what they want to see, UFC!

Penn v Silva would be a dream fight

two of the most technical MMA fighters we’ve ever seen. i’ll stop getting my hopes up though. dana white usually lets me down! -bB
