It should have been an uplifting moment when the door to the Browns’ weight room opened at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and LeCharles Bentley sauntered onto the practice field after two years in oblivion. But even as Bentley began what could be an amazing comeback from a torn patellar tendon and three more surgeries for a life- and limb-threatening staph infection, there was an underlying uncertainty. Not about Bentley, a 28-year-old St. Ignatius High School product, playing football again, but whether it will be for his hometown Browns
Sources say that Bentley has gone to the Browns and asked for his release, which they are going to grant him. I am deeply sadened by this because im a huge Bentley fan and was so happy to see him coming back. I really am disapointed,
man they released him quick! sucks..i was looking forward to seeing if he’d stick around. hopefully he’ll get a shot somewhere. i can’t think of anyone in their right mind that would root against this guy getting back on the field after what he’s been through. it’s different but eerily similar to Grant Hill’s injuries. -bB
