On a day when Jerry Jones and 31 other NFL teams voted unanimously to opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement, the Cowboys owner and general manager took care of two of his Pro Bowlers.
Barber’s role do you all think he’s the #1 guy here? It certainly would seem so based on his contract but you have to figure Felix Jones in there. What do yo uguys think? 2/3 for Barber, 1/3 for Jones?
1/2 and 1/2 I think early this season, we will see a lot of Barber, but after Felix Jones gets more comfortable with NFL speed and offense, I believe they will try to spell Barber with him and splitting carries pretty evenly. Choice might even show up from time to time near the end of the season because the Cowboys will want to keep Barber fresh and injury-free going into the playoffs.
Barber is definitely the starter and #1 guy, but I don’t think he’ll be the solo man or majority man once the rookie RBs around him are ready to help out.

re: Barber is the man. He was even the man when he was the #2 back behind Julius Jones.
Terrence Newman is one of the most underrated corners in the NFL. Very physical and very talented.
