Now that the NFL Draft is complete, every team’s depth chart is set in stone, and we know EXACTLY how each skill position player will be deployed, it’s time to mock draft.

Not the order I would go with I wouldn’t say that the depth charts are set in stone just yet. New RBs especially will have to find their role this pre-season for teams like Pittsburgh, Oakland and Carolina. Regardless, I don’t really think A.P. should be #1. He shares carries on a team with questions at QB.

L.T. should still be the better back this season having Turner out of the picture, and he is definitely the safer bet since we saw A.P. start to get shut down several times near the end of 2007.

Randy Moss is questionable in the top 10 considering defenses are going to be covering him better this season—see Super Bowl tape.

I’d say Larry Johnson/Steven Jackson are higher than they should be, and Frank Gore’s a little lower than maybe he should be. Marshawn Lynch could probably break into this ranking too considering the offensive improvements in Buffalo.

Brady everyone likes Brady as a round one pick. Obviously, he puts up enough points to be considered there. But I will almost never draft a QB in the first round, in a standard scoring system.

Where’s Ronnie Brown? The drafting of Jake Long will do wonders for him. He went crazy last year before getting injured. He should be a late first rounder to me, and if not then an early 2nd rounder. If you can get him after that it’s a steal, IMO.

You’re right FF – I would not put AP first. 2nd, sure. But LT is still tops til proven otherwise.

Steven Jackson and Brady Steven Jackson is definitely ranked too high up there, especially considering the Bruce is gone and Holt is aging fast. LT has to be #1 as well.

S-Jax This guy is getting a lot of love on other sites and I just don’t see it, man. I thnk he’s a top 4 or 5 guy, but that depends on a lot of things. Is he the same back he was in 2006? I don’t know. He seems slower and more tentative. He certainly is more injury prone that many of us thought. Is he in a better situation? Well, IF Orlando Pace is back and the O-line is intact, and IF Marc Bulger decides he wants to play like an NFL QB, then yes, things can line up for Jackson. Too many IFs in my book.

re: The AP or LT at first overall debate basically boils down to this: do you want to take a risk for slightly better stats from a second year player or get consistently stellar stats from a proven fantasy stud.

Here’s what AP has against him: terrible passing game, defenses will key in on him in his second year, and he was proven to be injury prone in college.

Here’s all people have against LT: he’s getting older.

I’ll take LT 100 times out of 100.
