Longoria Signs Long-Term Deal

The Rays and third baseman Evan Longoria have reached agreement on a long-term contract that could keep him in a Rays uniform through the 2016 season and pay him as much as $44 million. The deal is worth a guaranteed $17.5 million. The team has a one-year option for 2014 and a subsequent two-year option for 2015-16. If all options are picked up, it would be a nine-year contract, the longest in team history.

re: This guy is gonna be a beast for years to come. The D-Rays actually look like they have some hope now with their young talent finally transitioning to major league production.
