WHAT A STEAL I think the terms were something like 70 million over 6 years? This is an all-star player who is BETTER than Jose Reyes in every category at the same position, so for an SS who’s gonna be a future Hall of Famer with the numbers he’s putting up, this is an ABSOLUTE smart steal for the marlins. Lock him up now for only a little over $10 M a year, and you have one of the brightest young five-tool stars at a bargain for the better part of the next century.

The Florida Marlins must be one of the greatest stories no one’s ever heard of. For a team who’s total payroll is LESS than what Alex Rodriguez is making this year, they are in first place, their offense is stacked with 21, 22 year old power homerun hitters in Dan Uggla and Hanley Ramirez, and they are quietly killing every team they match up against. No one saw this coming, and still no one is talking about it. The greatest story never told.
