Mike Montgomery introduced as new Cal basketball coach

Mike Montgomery made his way across the Bay on Saturday, taking over the California men’s basketball program with promises to take the Golden Bears to the same heights he reached at Stanford.
Hey there, Montgomery went on to coach the Warriors after a very successful run at Stanford. Guess he wanted to try his hand at the NBA. He hasn’t coached since 2005 I believe, so this gets him back to where he’s best. Only problem is that he’s a b-ball announcer and assistant to Stanford athletics right now. He’ll have to leave those positions immediately.

i dont know anything about mike montgomery, but why leave stanford for cal? i dont know much about the pac 10 and dont really understand the appeal. he has proven to be a good coach, and looked like he had a good thing going at stanford.
