The closest Kimbo Slice came to providing the type of street beatdown that marked his rise to YouTube infamy happened during Saturday nights’s Elite XC post-fight press conference.

true that My observations:

1. Kimbo is improving, but he ain’t there yet and will lose to someone with a mediocre ground game. Thompson had numerous opportunities and couldn’t finish.

2. Elite is light years behind UFC. they stopped the fights too quick and it’s clear their fighters are no where near the quality of UFC, or even WEC.

3. Kimbo is hurting Elite and MMA as much as he is helping them. He is an exciting brawler, but his lack of top notch MMA skills calls in question the organization and the sport by casual and hardcore fans.

kimbo not that great he was so winded minutes after the fight was stopped. did you see that press conference? he could barely control the panting. he’s got not moves on the ground. he better get some soon or he’s in trouble.

yup he said afterward that he “should stop smoking” so that he can improve his cardio. Smoking what, I’m not sure, but I’m guessing it’s green and gets you high. I give him credit for some takedown defense and some skills on the ground, but the guy is not ready to be an MMA fighter. Right now, he’s a street fighter with a few MMA moves, but that’s it. – Freddie Footballer
