Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was viewed by many as the leading candidate to be NBAMVP prior to the abdominal injury that caused him to miss nine games. But if the 2004 NBAMVP had a vote, it would go to Garnett’s teammate, Paul Pierce.
Impressive I think one of the most impressive things about Pierce’s year is that he has been able to work so well with KG and Allen. While people had previously questioned his affinity for being top dog, he has handled being one of three VERYWELL...and with an admirable degree of humility. His assist avgs are testimony to that…I’m constantly watching him make unselfish, smart plays. Very impressed with how this team has gelled.
