The Rangers decided to cut the cord on the Ben Broussard experiment Thursday, designating him for assignment just before the Rangers faced Seattle.
The Rangers have 10 days to trade or release Broussard, if he clears waivers. Since a team would have to pick up the rest of Broussard’s $3.85 million contract, it’s unlikely he will be claimed.
Looks like they’re going to call up Kason Gabbard in his place…
