Johan Santana received quite a welcome from teammates and fans in his New York Mets debut. Juan Gonzalez and Albert Pujols delivered a different type of greeting.

I hope this doesn’t jeopardize the interview we have setup for Tuesday afternoon 2PM EST, but you west coast homers think you have a free pass. At least you didn’t start ripping on my Tarheels. Next you are going to start telling me Magic is better than Jordan.

I love the fact that a two time, MVP has been, can light up Santana in the first inning of a spring training game. Please understand that in the two weeks I have been a part of FSM I have created a St. Louis Cardinals and a UNC Tarheels group. If you are questioning where my true allegiances lie, please understand that I started pulling for the redbirds the same day that Ron Gant was traded.

That is right; the worst to first Atlanta Braves started playing winning baseball in the early 90’s. About that same time I had to sit through 6th grade algebra listening to the insatiable bandwagon nonsense of every singe 12-17 year old baseball fan. You would have thought Ted Turner was the second coming of Branch Rickey.

Johan did receive a warm welcome to the National League. BUT, BUT it is Spring Training. Let us not lose focus here. It is a very very very long season. For all we know Johan was working on a new pitch. Just b/c Juan Gonzalez takes him deep in the first inning doesn’t mean he is going to be a bust for the Mets.

Thanks for reading

Swany yep, it’s early no doubt, and I’m sure Santana will be a stud this year. but thought folks wanted to get an update on Santana. I didn’t write the article or the teaser (fortunately for me!). Love your passion. And no, Magic is no where near Jordan’s class. :)

yes sorry about that….. it was just a link Santana is complete stud and will only be better in the National League with bigger ball parks and no DH. Sorry for the accusations about west coast bias. I was on a roll the other day and the smack talk was following unfiltered from my brain to the fingers.

We need to start a forum soon as fantasy baseball players are holding drafts all over the country this weekend. My draft is on Sunday, we play a ten team Head to Head league on Yahoo. Same guys have been playing for 5 years.

BTW, i am still loving this site. Just wish I had more time to post.
