Crazy Don’t you have to strip Sherk of the title if you are going to have a fight for the title. Really what this will be then is a number on contender fight. The belt would be a psuedo-belt.
Sherk v Penn would be amazing i look at Sherk and Penn as one of the fights for the ages. Both are highly skilled and what’s interesting is that they’re so different than one another. Sherk is ripped out of his mind and trains like a maniac. Penn is perhaps the most natural (gifted) fighter in MMA and I would venture to say doesn’t train as much. -bB

Jernigan’s right it’s just a hyped up way for White to promote this fight and to protect himself should Sherk be punished by the CASC. If Sherk is ok, he’ll fight the winner after White presumably strips the interim belt from Penn or Stevenson (my wager is Penn). If not, Penn or Stevenson is your champ. Makes business sense but not common sense.
