Best player on Team USA?

We’ve all been catching the replays and what not for Team USA basketball, or the Men’s senior national team as they like to call it…now that we’ve seen them play who’s the best player on the team?

My vote goes to Dwayne Wade. Every time I turn it on he’s digging into someone’s chest and taking it to the rack. The international players always have some puzzled look on their face like, “What the heck just ran into me?”

Can’t wait for Olympic basketball to start. There hasn’t been this much drama surrounding the event since ’92.

re:

Chris Paul has actually been awful in international play. He may be a supremely talented player, but he's played poorly and would rather go for the 2 on 4 fastbreak alley oop to Dwight (which never works) than the half court 2. The best player on the team is easily Kobe. He can score in bunches and his defense has been raised to another level in international play. Second and third would be Wade and Redd, who is lights out from downtown.

lest we forget...

don't forget that deron williams has been playing the best at PG, which is the most crucial role on a team lacking size, and he has the muscle to give weaker european guards fits. plus, he's rockin' the beard. badass!

gone are the days

where we think we can just impose our game on other teams and win. We need to do that but also stay flexible by playing good team ball. Only then will we win the gold medal. The best players therefore are the fundamental players on the team.

re:

Deron's been amazing too, forgot to mention him. CP3 has been awful in international play.

international game different than nba

We have to understand that the international game is more ball-movement oriented, outside game oriented, with less isolations and one-on-ones. Carmelo Anthony dominated in the last world championships with his physicality and mismatch problems with the combination of size, speed, shooting touch, and post-up moves. The best two players are Kobe and Lebron but the x factor is going to be deron williams.
