"Clash of the Champions" US Men to Face World #1 Brazil on September 9th
The U.S. will, instead of facing Mexico at Azteca Stadium in Mexico, will play Brazil on September 9th, which is an international fixture date. http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_1998855.html
According to U.S. Soccer:
The U.S. Men’s National Team will play host to a truly special match when No. 1 ranked Brazil comes to Chicago in the “Clash of Champions” on Sunday, September 9, marking the five-time World Champion’s first-ever visit to the Windy City. Kickoff at Soldier Field is set for 3 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Univision. Fans can also follow the match live online via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker. U.S. Soccer will announce ticket details, including pricing and sales ordering methods, later this week. Fans can find out the latest information at ussoccer.com.
To me, a nice upgrade over Mexico and it shows that the US. Soccer Federation learned it’s lesson from WC ’06 and is scheduling some truly challenging matches for the young U.S. squad. What are your thoughts?
