Da draft
Who do “da bulls” take?
I love the upside of Beasley. He can shoot, rebound, and run on the break. We all know how obsessed with big men GMs are. He’ll be as good as Odom in two years and only go up from there. Problem: what do you do with Deng? He came off a down year and his value is low.
Rose fills a huge hole at PG. He’s great, but I just don’t know how Chicago can deal with more outside shooting inconsistency.
Who’s the third pick? I’ve got Brook Lopez. The T-Wolves need another decent big. I just don’t see him getting much past decent. Would Love be better here?

lakers' picks
It hurts not having them, espicially considering Crittenton was essentially the third draft pick traded away. But with Farmar and Vujacic behind Fisher, it was a risk worth taking. The Lakers run of bum draft picks - George, Cook, Medvedenko, Rush, Von Wafer, Walton - has been shrugged off by fans because they are usually a good team. I always railed against Kupchak based off this fact: Josh Howard went 29th. Hopefully Bynum comes back strong. As for the Warriors... the ghost of Joe Smith still haunts them. It's up to Monta to exorcise it because they'll probably be disappointed this year. By the way, does that Italian they had this year look to get any PT?June 22, 2008 - 8:40pm

Beasley's the best
If the Bulls opt for hometown boy Rose, that's be Miami's gain. Beasley is a beast, most ready of any player to step right in and make an NBA-level impact.- Freddie Footballer

Bulls will get Rose
i was listening to Screaming A Smith yesterday and learned just how many people in Chicago want Rose. Didn't realize he was a Chicago native and that basically seals the deal. Smith alluded to how the Bulls already messed up in hiring Vinny as coach so they better not mess up 2x and not take Rose. Granted Beasley is a stud too but it now appears as if Rose has more potential. -bBJune 23, 2008 - 2:19pm

The Heat
I agree completely, the Miami Heat NEED a player like Beasleymore than most every other team out there. They are likely to be bad regardless, but he'll probably raise them above terrible (with a healthy Wade). If Miami can find another decent big man, they'll have a chance in the east.June 28, 2008 - 3:25pm

I think Chicago has to take
I think Chicago has to take Rose despite their lack of a scoring big man because great point guards are simply harder to come by. Add in the fact that he's a Chicago native and I think that pretty much does it. still, it woul dbe hard to pass on Beasley with the sorry front line that they are trotting out there on the court. Noah and Thomas are good players but they aren't going to be the scoring threat that Beasley could become. Rose will certainly take a chunk of Hinrich's minutes so maybe they can deal Hinrich for a veteran that can play in the post.Reply

re:
Minny needs players. Forget inside or outside presence, they need a player that can contribute in a major way. Behind Al Jefferson, Randy Foye is the best player on this team which is pretty sad since he's injury prone and has yet to show any progress. Gerald Green is gone, Telfair still blows, and Ryan Gomes is still not a true starter. They will be devastated by that trade for years, so they should bring in Mayo (probably the most sure thing player int he draft behind the big 2) who is a big time scorer. He'll make Telfair look like he isn't high when making decisions at the point and he'll give this team what it needs, talent. As for the Warriors it looks like they'll draft one of Kosta, Arthur, or Green. Kosta looks like a fat bust, Arthur has a low ceiling, and I like Green the most. He's like a younger and more athletic SJax. Macduff, how will you Lakers fans live without the first of your Pau Gasol picks? The Grizzlies have about a 10% chance of landing a rotation player, so I hope Kupchak learned his lesson about trading draft picks!
