Do you think Bonds should be able to play in 2008?
In an ESPN story published to the FSM front page, Bonds is reportedly training and wants to play in 2008. This despite his indictment for committing perjury before a grand jury when he testified he did not use performance-enhancing drugs.

Provided he beats the rap or the legal proceedings are still pending by next spring, should he play baseball in 2008?
I’m not sure what Bud Selig thinks of all this but other than him being in prison garb would theoretically keep him from playing next year. If I were a baseball GM, I would be hesitant, simply because of the negative PR bringing Bonds to my team would have. Not worth it, and it seems the only fans who like Bonds are in the Bay Area, and you’ll find a bunch in San Francisco who are ambivalent about Bonds.
He did have some decent numbers in 2007, but he is on his last legs – literally. His knees are in horrible shape. I’d be more inclined to sign him if I’m in the AL, so he could be a designated hitter. He can’t play outfield anymore and his ability to run the basepaths is definitely in question.
So if you could sign Bonds for one season – would you? And why or why not?

Bonds will be signed for sure.
He's just too talented a player.
