Duke is mediocre now
Analysts were saying that Coach K is done recruiting the bluechippers (no pun intended) in favor of “suburbian” high school prospects that will stay at Duke for 4 years.
This makes sense, you don’t see the Corey Magette, Elton Brand, and other super talents that’ll probably leave after 1-2 years. Now they all simply go to UNC!
Coach K undoubtedly has a better time coaching when he has complete control of the situation. With this current bunch he’s not going to have any surprises and he can keep the graduation rate up. Too bad they’re not going to be putting up Championship banners anymore though.
Do you think Duke’s reign as an elite team is over?

Duke
the luster is fading for the Blue Devils. I'm not sure I'm ready to write their obituary yet, but another lackluster season and they'll be talked about more in past tense than in the present.- Freddie Footballer

Really? Just like that? Duke fails to reach the Sweet Sixteen two years in a row and now they will never win a National Championship again? Get real. Duke will always be an elite program as long as Coach K is there. Every team goes through some rough times. UNC has gone through 3 coaches in the last 10 years, and it wasn't too long ago they wrapped up an 8-20 season under Matt Doherty. If I were a Duke fan, I would not fret for very long. But I'm not a Duke fan. I hate them. And UNC. Go Deacs!
