Do You See Hakim Warrick....

.....being a good value at fantasy to pick up as a free agent for rebounds and blocks? If not, what other sleeper name do you see being on the free agent market that would be a great pick up going forward for accumulating blocks, FG% and rebounds for a fantasy team?

re: Do You See Hakim Warrick....

Warrick will get you pts and reb, but not blocks. Last year he averaged 26 min/g and only averaged 0.4 blk.g. Nazr Mohammed might be floating around your league since he only recently got back into the starting lineup and playing 30+ min/g. He's averaging a double-double plus 1.4 blk/g as a starter. There's no guarantee he sticks in the starting lineup, but the coach now seems to think he and Okafor can play together well at the same time. Another player would be Joe Smith, until Deng comes back and reclaims the starting spot. sportsnut

re: looking for SF

finely -- good for 3s if you need them. i think he;ll maintain his PT until parker comes back.
young -- good for pts and reb and FG%. doesn't get you much else, but someone to keep an eye on.
wright -- still got 33 min in Matrix's debut. Most likely Matrix will play PF, allowing Wright to maintain his PT at SF. Wright gives contributions in multiple categories unlike the other two. He'll get some stls and blocks too.

I would pick, in order: wright, finley and young.

I Could Have Picked Up Joe Smith Four Days Ago.....

....I know I had him on my radar screen five days ago but decided to take Kyle Korver and Fabrisio Omberto of the Spurs instead. Next thing you know....the guy in second place right above me in the standings picked up Joe Smith and Larry Hughes right away. Luckily I was able to take Jameer Nelson as well when he was dropped a few days back by the guy who picked up Larry Hughes. What do you think about Andrei Bargnani going forward? Well he be the #2 scorer on Toronto from her on out? I just dropped Jerry Stackhouse for him last week and so far he has panned out nicely.

re: I Could Have Picked Up Joe Smith Four Days Ago.....

i certainly would have dropped stack for bargnani. as for being the #2 scorer? the opportunity is there; he just needs to seize it. He has the potential to be Mehmet Okur (of past seasons) who can get more blocks, but he seems to be afraid of rebounding. In anycase, good pickup considering you only had to unload stack. sportsnut

re: Thoughts on Charlie Villaneuva, Mike Conley, TJ Ford

See my thoughts on CV and Ford in my weekly blog:

http://www.fantasysportsmatrix.com/blogs/sportsnut/combing-waiver-wire-xiv#

Latest news is that CV and Ford seem to have gotten dinged up in last night's games. As for Conley, go get him if you need a PG. He'll get all the PT he can handle for the rebuilding Grizzlies. If Miller gets traded, Conley could become the #2 scoring option (but I think his FG# suffers).

For now, I take, in order: Conley, Ford, CV, assuming no one has a major injury right now.

I like Conley!

luckily I pickd him up a month or so ago! And thanks for the love on my question. I think I'll look at Finley a little closer before taking him.

Rafer Alston a Steal or Sebastian Telfair.....

......he's the PG for Minnesota. Not great at scoring points or getting rebounds but gets a ton of assists per game. Alston is putting up solid all-around numbers as a starting PG for Houston. Luckily I just picked up Nazr Mohammed too. Great for points, rebounds and FG% over the last week.

re: Rafer Alston a Steal or Sebastian Telfair.....

I take Alston if you can live with the FG%. Telfair is ok now, but who will lose PT as Foye gains more PT? I picked up Nazr and he had a clunker of a game today...

Marcus Banks?

Looks like he'll be getting more minutes with the Heat. What say you, SN?

re: Marcus Banks?

Yes he wil definitely get more minutes for several reasons. 1. He can't be any worse than J-will at this point in J-will's career. 2. J-will is inujry prone. 3. J-will is not playing well right now and could be traded. 4. His only real competition is J-will. Note the common theme! someone definitely to keep an eye on or pickup depending on who you could drop. sportsnut
