fantasy draft strategies
There has been a trend in many fantasy drafts where people pick wide receivers early instead of running backs and quarterbacks. Should people draft the likes of T.O., Randy Moss, Braylon Edwards even though there are plenty of running backs that could earn more points for a team in a given game? Is it right to pick these WRs because the depth of running backs is deeper than those of wide receivers? Previously, it was believed that running backs should be taken with the first two or at least two of the first three picks because they could get rushing and receiving yds with two ways to get touchdowns. How should fantasy teams draft players?

Good question, PKang. I will
Good question, PKang. I will take a RB in the first or second round for sure. If Tom Brady slips to the second round, or Manning to the third, I will take those guys - the value is too good. Randy Moss is the only guy worht taking of WRs in the first round. Reggie Wayne takes a hit with Manning and Jeff Saturday's issues a little. I'd move T.O. and the Dallas "machine" as the number #2 WR. So, ideally, if I'm drafting early, I'd do something like this. This is to give an example of what you could do. I think you need a solid #1 WR but you don't need Moss or Wayne, just a guy like Fitzgerald, Roy Williams, etc. You should get a WR by 4th round and there are some good WRs there like Santonio Holmes, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, etc. You need at least one stud RB and one top 6 or 7 QB. I'd like a #2 RB like Jamal Lewis, Michael Turner or Willie Parker but love the depth at the position, guys like Jonathan Stewart, Chris Johnson, Selvin Young, etc as number 3/flex guys. #3 Westbrook Late 2nd: Jamal Lewis or even Willie Parker Early 3rd: Larry Fitzgerald or Manning or Romo 4th: Santonio Holmes 5th: Calvin Johnson #6 Frank Gore Middle second: MJD or Grant or even Larry Johnson if there Middle Third: Manning, Romo, Larry Fitzgerald, marques Colston Late 1st: Maurice Jones Drew early second: Moss or Brady, or Larry Johnson Late third: Turner or a top WR or QB if I haven't taken one.- Freddie Footballer
