Fantasy football questions

I just set up a fantasy football league, and in the process came upon some tough choices. What are everyone’s preferences/opinions on these?

FYI: The roster has 1 QB, TE, flex, K, and D/ST, and 2 RBs and WRs, along with 7 bench spots, and basically standard scoring. 10 team league

What is a good number of keepers? I’m thinking 2?

What should the schedule look like? We’ll have 4 playoff teams, and ideally 2 weeks per playoff round and skip week 17 to avoid players on teams that have clinched not playing. But that means the regular season is only 12 weeks, which seems short. Which is most important: 2 week playoff rounds, avoiding week 17, or longer regular season?

Thoughts on any of this, or any other league setup questions?

re:

In the keeper I'm in we use 4 keepers and it works well, but I'd recommend 2 or 3. That makes each new season draft more important.

Why Two Weeks Per Playoff Round?

Seems like a bit long to me. Make the playoff rounds one week each of the finals just two weeks and the semi-final round one week. Then you can have 13 regular season games. Most leagues have 3 WR's and 2 Flex spots just to make the draft and the scoring more interesting.

in regards to number of playoff weeks

I think it depends on how many are in the league for me, personally. If there are 10 teams, I'd go with a two week format, weeks 15 and 16. If 12 teams or more, go with a 4 week format, six teams can make the playoffs and the two top seeds get a bye first round.
as for keeper, no more than two, that's overkill to me to have more.
