re: AZ 'Backs
Impressive, but they will slow down. They have the best ERA in the NL (guess who has the best in MLB?) and their ERA is 0.5 runs less than last year's MLB leader (padres at 3.70) and 2006's leader (tigers at 3.84). They also have the top offense in MLB (85 runs in 13 games --> 6.54 runs/g) and are on pace to do what people thought the tigers would do -- top 1000 run scored. I'm not sure when a team last broke 1000 runs, but it rarely happens. I do think they have a great shot at winning the NL West (weak division) and could make some noise in the playoffs with two bona fide aces (Webb and Haren) and a strong 3rd starter if Big Unit can stay healthy. Also, they have a solid bullpen once they make Pena the closer and Qualls the setup man. As for hitting, they have a great set of young hitters (Young, Upton, Jackson, Byrnes), but young they are and they'll run into slumps. I also think guys, like Reynolds, are overachieving. sportsnutReply
