david ortiz will be close to

david ortiz will be close to the 35 homeruns and 117 rbi simply because he has hit 30 homeruns and 100 rbi every year since 2003. andruw jones will have close to the same down year he had last year. jones moved into a pitcher friendly park, and just doesnt look like he is motivated. getting paid in the offseason did not help that fact either. matt holliday i think will also produce close to the same numbers as last year. we dont really know if he can put up those monster numbers again, but he has shown to be one of the best hitters in baseball, and anything is possible. hitting in coors field only helps as well. edgar renteria's numbers i am predicting to be down from last year. renteria proved when he was with boston that he doesnt hit the american league well. he will have some serious protection in that lineup and may be overlooked at times, but i dont think he can do what he did last year in the national league. miguel cabrera has every opportunity to have his best year yet. he is one of the best hitters in all of baseball, and is only 24 years old. the protection of the detroit lineup should only help his numbers. the only thing holding cabrera back is himself. weight and attitude issues have always been around, but his production has always been there as well. craig biggio retired. ryan braun is another player who could put up better numbers than he did last year. braun was called up in june last year, and absolutely ripped up the national league. a move to the outfield could frustrate the sophomore at times, but his bat is huge. a full season in the league will give him every opportunity, barring injury to top his rookie numbers. jorge posada had an amazing season last year for the yankees. that is why i dont think posada will come close to the numbers he had last year. he is getting up there in age, and the wear and tear behind the plate will hold him back from the all star numbers he has last year. carlos pena also had an unbelievable season last year, hitting 41 homeruns. pena was once a coveted yankee prospect, and showed why last year. he is young and has upside, but hitting more than 41 homeruns i think is unrealistic. 30-35 homeruns would be an excellent year for pena.

Jones for sure

if that guy stays on the field, he is an instant upgrade over last season. He doesn't have to do much. but if you're Dodgers fan, it's encouraging right now.
