The Larry Brown Experiment
Here are the quick facts:
1) Even back in his Philly days, Larry Brown was an intense defensive coach.
2) The Bobcats signed him to a contract today.
3) The Bobcats look GREAT on paper. Jason Richardson, Gerald Wallace, Emeka Okafor, Raymond Felton, Adam Morrison, Sean May, and a top 10 pick.i this year’s draft.
4) Despite all this talent, the Bobcats suck. Injuries (Wallace/Okafor/May/Morrison), unfulfilled potential (Felton), and misused talent (Richardson) along with bad coaching doomed this team.
I pose this question, how will Larry Brown actually fare with the Bobcats? They’ve always sucked and Raymond Felton needs to step it up for them to be successful. Larry Brown’s view on younger players seems to be “if we don’t play them, we don’t have to worry about them” and since Felton still plays like a rookie I have no idea how that situation will be handled. This team’s success rests on Felton’s shoulders. If he improves, this team gets in the playoffs. If he keeps this up, they’ll suck again. Brown’s biggest job will be to further develop Felton, something he has not been good at in the past.
Will this be a Pistons-esque Larry Brown coaching job or a Knicks-esque Larry Brown coaching job?

Felton and injuries
I definitely agree that the Bobcat's success is heavily dependent upon the performance of Raymond Felton. He's just not the point guard that they need. They need a guard who is better at passing and doesn't turn over the ball too much. Bringing in Larry Brown will marginally improve their success because of this along with the fact that they are an injury prone team.
