Kelly Pavlik vs. Jermain Taylor

Synopsis: This was the much anticipated rematch of their bout in 2007, which was hailed as one of the best fights last year. In a close and entertaining match, Pavlik was the aggressor through much of the fight, with Taylor content to stay in the middle of the ring and counterpunch. Pavlik would typically land shots and combinations and was the busier fighter, and Taylor would try to land some power shots as counters and go for the knockdown. But Pavlik was more consistent, busy and had the reach advantage. He also had more stamina, as he won the fight going away down the stretch and into the late rounds. Pavlik won by unanimous decision by the judge scores of 117-111, 116-112 and 115-113.
