1
Drew Brees
SD
When the Philip Rivers whispers turned to shouts, Brees created
complete silence. He threw 27 TDs and only 7 INTs. They also made a
nice run into the playoffs.

2
Jake Delhomme
CAR
He was relatively new on the starting QB scene. Fantasy owners didn’t expect such a gem to arise out of the Carolina QB.

3
Trent Green
KC
He came on slow in ’04 but the torrid pace he set towards the end
of the year qualifies him for the top 5. Besides, nobody expected
anything special out of his aging arm. 27 TDs is extraordinary.

4
Brett Favre
GB
We will always remember his emotional MNF performance in which he
lit the sky on fire. The rest of the year wasn’t that bad either with
30 TDs and only 17 INTs. Most people thought that age would catch up
with the wily veteran, this wasn’t the case.

5
Aaron Brooks
NO
The Saints are a team that went on a tear towards the end of the
year. Brooks was able to stay patient all year and throw 21 TDs. He was
probably undrafted in many fantasy leagues.

1
Ben Roethlisberger
PIT
Consistency is his top selling point. As a rookie, he made the game look very easy, a la Tom Brady.

2
Eli Manning
NYG
Seemed overwhelmed early in the year, but finished strong, including a big come from behind victory.

3
Luke McCown
TB
Wasn’t afraid to put the ball in the air, 4 TDs and 7 INTs in merely 5 games. Good or bad, that’s a lot of action.

4
Matt Schaub
ATL
Looked shaky during the few times he played; nothing new for a first year QB.

5
Philip Rivers
SD
We’re still waiting too see what this kid is all about, Drew Brees took all of his air time.

6
J.P. Losman
BUF
Very limited action, he was behind Bledsoe at the time.

7
Jim Sorgi
IND
Peyton Manning broke the TD record this year. Sorry Sorgi, your time is still to (never) come.

1
Peyton Manning
IND
Manning played out of his mind the entire year. He tailed off a bit
towards the end of the year but you can’t fault him for that. The pace
he set early in the year was truly incredible.

2
Daunte Culpepper
MIN
The Vikings finished the season on a tear, en route to their
playoff victory at Lambeau Field. C-Pep was primarily responsible for
this.

3
Billy Volek
TEN
Most of us remember the string of 300+ yard passing, 3+ TD games
towards the end of the year. However, Volek owners only remember the
awful week 16 performance against Denver. If it weren’t for that, he’d
be atop this list.

4
Trent Green
KAN
In the middle of the year, you could have found him on the waiver
wire. In the latter months of the season, you couldn’t have traded your
best player for him. 11 TDs in 4 games is something special.

5
Jake Delhomme
CAR
It was a two man show in Carolina after Steve Smith went down.
Delhomme to Muhammad, touchdown! Delhomme to Muhammad, touchdown!
Delhomme to Muhammad, touchdown; you get the point.
