Fantasy Football 2006 ()

Overview

2006 represented the 87th year of the National Football league. The Super Bowl was won by the Indianapolis Colts, who triumphed over the Chicago Bears 29-17 in Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Some fantasy milestones of note in 2006:

Charger RB LaDainian Tomlinson broke the single season TD record (31) previously held by Seattle RB Shaun Alexander (28) who accomplished the feat in 2005. Tomlinson also rushed for 1,815 yards and even threw two TD passes.

Chicago WR and Return Specialist Devin Hester scored six return touchdowns during the regular season, including a record tying 108-yard touchdown from a missed field goal against the New York Giants. His returns made the Chicago Bears defense/special teams one of the best in the league.

Atlanta QB Michael Vick became the first NFL quarterback to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, breaking Bobby Douglass’ 1972 mark, of 968 yards. Vick finished the season with 1,039 yards in 16 games.
