Clemens is playing “dumb” and I don’t buy it the only support Clemens will keep is from his staunch supporters. this interview did nothing in the way of persuading his innocence. if anything, he’s put his foot further into his mouth now. -bB

well.. in action, he’s doing everything an innocent person is doing to try to clear up his name. Going public, suing his trainer for defamation, etc. But it just doesn’t add up given the steroids charged climate right now. As part of a increasingly wary and tired, sports audience we’ve heard the denials before. I can’t recall when an allegation came back as untrue. So sorry Roger, I don’t believe you and until you’re proven innocent, you’re considered guilty.

playing dumb Yeah, he expects us to believe that he is so naive about the subject that not only does he not see the career incentives for such use (“It’s only a quick fix”, “These guys are in and out of the league” and “I don’t give a rat’s a** about the Hall”), but he also insults our intelligence by trying to convince us that he honestly doesn’t understand the side effects and progression of steroid use (“I’d have a third ear growing out of my head and pulling a tractor with my teeth” “My tendons would turn to dust”).

Cmon, Roger…those 24 years in the big leagues (which you were so quick to point out to us) and you’re telling us that you’re as ignorant as a school girl? Please.

legal tactic so he sues McNamee or whatever his name is for defamation. So now if anyone asks him to comment he can say “sorry, can’t comment on a pending legal matter”. Brilliant!
