Let’s assume for a minute that all the performance-enhancing-drug rumors are true, and that the commencement began in the “twilight of his career”, aka 1997. Based on his statistics up until that point, would he be a HOF-er even if he’d had a couple crappy years after and then retired?
Rocket would have no rings this is all hypothetical but I don’t think the Rocket would have any rings had he not “allegedly” juiced. His Toronto resurrection wouldn’t have happened thus the Yankees career wouldn’t have followed. On the contrary, Bonds never had a down year before Balco. Balco just made him better than he already was, it didn’t resurrect his career.
... You can’t argue that those stats were SOLID. But I’m not positive he would be a definite shoe-in.
Definitely Not a First Ballot HOF Anyone linked to using PEDs or HGH will never be a first ballot HOF nor do they deserve to be.
Rcger would still get in the HOF however as will Mark McGwire some day (I think?)
