Saints backfield is now a one trick pony the only reason Bush had success before is because the defense had to game plan for two contrasting backs. With Deuce out, defenses are devoting their entire run defense scheme to stopping Bush. The result? Unless Bush shows he can run inside he’s in trouble. Defenses can anticipate Bush to run wide of either hash mark and setup their alignments accordingly. The only thing that could save him is a resurgent passing game but I don’t know if Brees & Co. can get it done.
