Hard to say Rep. Burton possibly had noticed that many of the other Representatives, at least that I watched, were fairly hard on Clemens. I imagine they all had access to those lies (or I would argue, “not full truths” about whether he had evidence against Clemens). Those syringes and gauze pads seem to not matter much unless Clemens is going to be prosecuted criminally. Rep. Burton just seemed to want to focus on McNamee.
I still think Clemens did it, and I think his at times stumbling, stammering performance proves it.
I think I’ll change my answer. The way he’s going after him, and watching it, I think Burton likes/has a man-crush on Clemens. You don’t go after McNamee and pump up Clemens like unless you do.
Pretty obvious bias to me.
Bias I think it was very obvious the allegiances along party lines….Republicans leaned heavily towards Clemens while Democrats favored McNamee. Shameful performance by most, I think. It was obvious that they had already made their conclusions, many had neglected to do their homework, they let huge topics float by unsaid, were incredibly subjective, and redundant, and threw petty insults. There were really only ab 3 questions I thought were actually good ones.
You’re right though. For the most part, McNamee gave direct, calm, immediate feedback that was not at the advice of his lawyers while Clemens stuttered and stumbled and was continually guided by the wisperings of Hardin.
