Brandon Webb and Tim Lincecum are both having outstanding years. Webb has more innings and wins and Lincecum has a lower era and more strikeouts and he is on a much weaker team. My vote is for Lincecum. You could also answer CC Sabathia, Edinson Volquez and Ryan Dempster
19 wins? that’s good 19 wins? that’s good enough for me.

lincecum and dempster could win it if they had slightly more wins. they all have ERAs under 3 and lincecum and dempster are a little lower, but four more wins is a lot. if webb ends the season with about 24 with about the same ERA, he has to win it.
If Lincecum played on a good team he would be neck and neck with Webb. My vote goes to Webb.
Webb will get it but Lincecum is better. voters will decide that Timmy will probably win several Cy Youngs while its unknown if Webb will ever have a year as good as this again. don’t get me wrong, Webb is excellent and probably deserving of the award but Lincecum is just filthy. haven’t seen anything like him (including Wood, Prior, Liriano, etc) since Pedro in the mid 90’s. -bB
Brandon Webb’s stuff Brandon Webb’s stuff isn’t sexy by any means, but he’s a really consistent pitcher who will probably win 16-20 games every year for the next few years. Two Cy Young’s in three years is no fluke.
